General FAQs
Backpacks will be distributed on Wednesday, August 27th, we have it penciled into UME's programming! You'll get a chance to try on your new swag and take some photos with your Orientation Group and other 2029s.
Look out for an email from UME with more info about getting your student card!
The short answer: the content presented by the Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) team are mandatory. However, other student-led events are not considered mandatory, but are highly encouraged.
And now here's why: We found the programming presented by UME to be super helpful since you get to learn more about what the next four years at Schulich will look like! All UME events will take place from the mornings last into the afternoon - check out the schedule below:
All other student-run events are HIGHLY encouraged! We are working on ways to introduce you to as many classmates and upper-year mentors as possible, so that you can start building your support network at Schulich. These events will take place during the late afternoon and evenings during Orientaiton Week. The full schedule of student-run events can be accessed under the "Event Schedule" tab.
Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) is the main source of this information. You will get memo's emailed from them, as well as curriculum information communicated via Elentra (once access is granted) during Medical Foundations Week.
The 2028's will also be sharing some incredible resources to help you during Orientation Week and throughout the year – we're here to support you!
Nope! We want to encourage you to meet as many of your fellow classmates as possible, so we'll be building groups based on the information collected in the Student Information Form to best develop balanced groups.
But don't worry, we have also scheduled many larger team events and class-wide socials that will allow you to grow your network here at Schulich!
